Blog entry. An update and something I just want to get out of the way.

I finally uploaded a new chapter of Howl of Gray Wolf and I'm going to finish JUMPING MONKEY (Seishin series) soon. Afterwards, I will work on Heroic Blaze SolAka.

While writing, I realized that I have been hard on myself. I don't like to proofread because I constantly edit my writing. I get impatient and I really kick myself, having little confidence in my style. So I strive for near perfection and a good story.

For Jumping monkey, I continued changing things around from the draft. That is what I'm supposed to do, and any smart writer should do. Who doesn't make mistakes? It just felt like it took forever. The new chapter of HoGW ended up longer; it was my intention, feeling that I might've stopped it somewhere unimportant.

For SolAka, I feared for the advancement of the plot. Little faith in myself, wondering if the storytelling will work out.

Maybe more later.

Because I think they are good words to live by, I'd like to C&P this article from a newsletter.

By Julie Eshbaugh from http://www.publishingcrawl.com

I want to talk about the factor that is arguably the most important of all – perseverance.

Whether or not an athlete continues in the face of fear and adversity can make or break their chances of accomplishing their dreams.

The same can be said of writers.

TUESDAY.

Sometimes I tell myself, if I am not confident in something I should go back to the basics. I noticed from my recent story examination, and criticism from readers, that I often misuse commas and semicolons. Redundancy is another problem but I will figure that out later. This happens to me because I want variety.

Here are some important terms:
- Subject and Predicate
- Conjunction what's your function!
- Transitions
- Adjective "A scary bear"
- Proverbs
- Adverbs
- Independent Clause
- Dependent Clause

Subject and Predicate
Subject (person or thing that's doing or receiving something)
Predicate (A comment or assertion about subject. Does it often have verb?)

Conjunction
Meaning: A word used to join other words or phrases together into sentences. The specific conjunction used shows how the two joined parts are related. Here are conjunctions terms: And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So. They are in clauses.

Independent Clause (IC)
Meaning: A simple sentence that can stand alone. It's one IC only.

Dependent Clause (DC) + Compound Sentence (CS)
- Dependent Clause is clause that augments an independent clause with additional information. It is introduced by a word such as because, when, if, etc.
- A compound sentence contains two or more ICs (with conjunctions).

About SemiColons
Semicolons are:
1.) Set in-between relevant ICs. The clauses should not have conjunctions.
2.) Separate listed items that has commas
3.) Between ICs connected with transitions (ie: however, in fact)

First, I'd like to say that I am sorry for not uploading anything last week or this week. I'm still surprised that is Wednesday. I was feeling under the weather. I had Rhinorrhea for some dumb reason too.

Anyways, this SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act; Internet Piracy) business has gotten serious, so I'm just taking time to reflect and ramble.

My icon is more of a thoughtful or "hmm?" face rather than angry.

Ask yourself, are you committing piracy?

Today, on my Wiki, in response to the protest, I wanted to type why I think Wikia can be useful. I was an amateur editor for Wikipedia and wanted to learn how to use the editing system. Because of that, BOOM, made my own database. It first started off as as experiment on PBworks, but it was difficult to work with so I used Wikia.

Today, I also want to honorably mention the LJ comm [livejournal.com profile] stop_plagiarism, where the members commit themselves to fighting piracy. It is backed with facts and I appreciate the hard work. Surprises how people just indiscriminately copies from another.

Which makes me think: Would parodies on youtube fall into the piracy category?

I had more to say but I forgot. Again, it's a ramble, and looks like there is little to no point.

Something from one of my notepad files:

Capitalism (private) vs Socialism (public) /Communism (Full public)

Capitalism is for private sectors services. Owned by people or an individual, not by a government or communities, and where people have to work for money, so they can buy things they need or want, such as food. Capitalism mostly has a "free market" economy, which means people buy and sell things by their own judgment. Mainly the United States's system.

Socialism is the economic idea that all industries should be owned by the government (public sector), rather than by businessmen, because the government will look after its employees better than businessmen would.

Communism is a type of socialism. Complete control/owner of economy and NO social classes. The goal of communism is for workers to take control of factories and business and to manage the economy democratically. COMMON OWNERSHIP, which is not divided into the people. This is NOT for private/non-gov sectors (ie: Capitalism), wage labor, etc.

WORDS:

- Deregulation is the removal or simplification of government rules and regulations that constrain the operation of market forces. Deregulation does not mean elimination of laws against fraud or property rights, but eliminating or reducing government control of how business is done, thereby moving toward a more laissez-faire (free from intervention), free market.

- unregulated privatization = transfer from public (govt) to private sector.

- Public Sector = Government. What communism is for.

- Fascism = Strict Union (the nation/nationalism) & corporate reps negotiations. There is authoritarian leadership. Plus Fascism has led people in power to perform some radical actions, such as using police brute force.

NOTE to some people:

- The Nazi Party opposed Communism.

- Everybody uses and accepts different governments all around the world. Your tastes varies.

History of the Day
In 1964, U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson signs the Civil Rights Act of 1964 meant to prohibit segregation in public places.

Word of the Day
The word is the noun "Primer", which is a small introductory book on a subject or a short informative piece of writing. This is especially for children; it derived from the Latin word "prīmus" and its variants, which means "First".

Lesson of the day: "The reader should be allowed to react naturally to the evidence presented in the story, not instructed in how to react by the author."
