NEW TAG: Chronicle

MGW here, annoucing a possible new project and once I get some details done, I will work on a so-called "pilot chapter". I will mention again that for now it will be a standard for me to type short chapters, like maybe under 2500 or 3000 words.

==============

So, while working on TOF, I've decided to think of a series based on ninjas and real-life Japan in the Warring Stares Era. Why is Japanese history and a being of various interpretations arrest my attention so much? That is good question.

My watching of anime would eventually lead to me being curious about how the things I've watched/seen are composed together.

I like some anime because I like cartoons. Easy, eaaaaaaasssy; I don't think you can bitch about that. It doesn't have to be the best. Matter of fact, there has been many many times where I can't find myself watching entire anime series. Maybe it's boring, doesn't suit my fancy, too cutesy, too slow, I need a good hook.

I find Mobile Suit Gundam 00 generic but okay to follow because it's close to current real-life events.

I like NARUTO, but....

at the same time I hate it. I hate how overrated it is, I hate some of the fans (especially how they treat the chars in fiction or how they obsess over the chars), I sometimes hate how the fights go. Maybe it's the fans that is getting on my nerves.

Some of these NARUTO RPGS get on my nerves.

A few of the games like Clash of the Ninja (First game?) and the gameboy games. Simple moveset, but short-term fun factor. And what's the big idea making "Clash of Ninja" so short?!?!

And, there's too much complaining about one character's desicions, how NARUTO typically excels in training and it's sort of getting on my nerves on how everyone tells NARUTO that he has the potential is surpassing some of the most strongest characters even in his youth, IN A WEEK, like 4th Hokage and Jiraiya, how there's not enough death, etc.

These days in the comic, it's starting to matter a bit on how much power or skill you boast in order to win. And low-ranking ninja would sustain some serious trauma and later, looks uneffected by it. With the exception of Rock Lee, who I cried for. This is a comic for kids so I can understand if it's gentle about death.

I will always like (Hatake Kakashi). I wouldn't mind a plush of him. He seems to have the best fights; even though he's one of the strongest and smartest characters, he's shown to struggle with those of the same rank. I also like Nara Shikamaru, but he has done some things that seems to be out of his ability.

AND I HATE THE CLONE/SUBSTITUTION TRICK. You're under the suspension that a character takes a death blow, and POOF! Saved by clone or log. When did they take the time to make the seals?

And this is my personal pet peeve: On YouTube, it's like there's a NARUTO anime music video for every song released. I am exaggerating of course, but there's a shitload.

I don't have much of a problem with the "modern elements mixed in a Feudal world" concept of NARUTO. But I feel that there is a lot of things left unexplained...but that is always the case.

I'll admit it. I like those ninja guys because of childhood, but back then they shared a stereotype. I'm looking for something with smarts and logic, something realistic, and not superhuman martial artists like NARUTO and BASILISK (somewhat). Like hwo did they achieve their missions and how did they create the reputation that we so known much about? Also, something graphic.

There is another reason why I want to do this. I'm playing in a few D&D games online and this caught my attention: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Ninja_DnD_Class

Chuunin exams, flak jackets, genjutsu, special jounin are NARUTO STUFF. Is NARUTO so outspread that it has become the new cool stereotype?
