The Terms "rant" and "ramble".
Jul. 11th, 2011 02:14 amJust something out of the blue because of the tags and my friends list.
RAMBLE
"Ramble" is from a word that means "to roam". Ramble is an instance of someone talking at length without direction. It also means to move or stroll without directly, casually.
RANT
From the Dutch word ranten and randen, meaning to talk nonsense or foolishly. "Randen" is also plural for Rand, meaning "edge" or "brink".
Rant is defined as a criticism done by ranting; also a wild, incoherent, emotional articulation or to speak or declaim extravagantly or violently.
