Voice Image on Monster Rancher characters
Here it is! What Greg said:
Person:"I just recently found this site, and am posting for the first time. I'd like to say that this provides a very nice opportunity to fans.
I also think that if you get to do the Halloween double date story, there would be an appropriate symmetry to Elisa's date being Morgan because between the four characters there are only two actors. Of course I realize that, the way things are, the most likely way for the story to appear would be in the new comic book, which doesn't have any actors."
Greg responds...
In my head, there are always actors. I try to hear the voices...
Of course, starting in issue #3 we introduce new characters, one of whom has a speaking part, so I cast the character in my head, so I could hear her voice as well.
More new characters speak in issue #4, and I cast them too.
Keeps me honest.
Time for a seiyuu list for "Howl of Gray Wolf" and "Tiger of Freedom"
[Good Guys]
Gray Wolf
Toshihiko Seki, Joji Nakata
Chara Type: Father/older brother type, wise, easy, tense
Thoughts: Seki and Nakata are favorites of mine, popular, and Gray Wolf is the main char in my first MR series. Toshihiko is known for playing adult chara with goodwill and a short temper. Considering Gray Wolf is a bit eldery, Nakata's calm, defined voice would be very nice as well.
Tiger (in end of HOGW and "Tiger of Freedom" only)
Kenji Nojima, Kamiya Hiroshi, Katsuyuki Konishi
Chara Type: Enthusiastic, mostly mild and friendly, but zealous in battle
Thoughts: Kenji seems to play the gallant hero who does not tolerate injustice. Kind of see Kenji as a normal, handsome young man or gentleman. Hiroshi is popular and I think a bit similiar to Nojima when it comes to roles (voice?). Considering Hiroshi played Kouji in Digimon Frontier and his digivolutions, he's probably appropiate for the blue wolf xD. Konishi is probably more known for utilizing a low tone, but there are roles where he plays a young man with silly/lively traits.
Hopper
Fujiko Takimoto, Chika Sakamoto, Kumiko Wanatabe
Chara Type: Active, courageous, fun-loving
Thought: A hyper friend, but is intelligent and honest. He's not always brash; there are a lot of voice overs who plays this part so it's tough to pick. Fujiko Takimoto who plays Child Link is one pick. Chika plays some..bizarre animals that are like "dwarf-ish". Kumiko is similiar! Kumiko plays Sgt. Keroro, and I kind of see Hopper (a rodent) with that kind of high-pitched/hyper voice.
Basilisk
Keiji Fujiwara, Hisao Egawa, Hideyuki Hori
Chara type: Serious, arrogant, inner anger, hothead but loyal
Thoughts: Keiji's a popular guy; I see him as the "gag/latently insane/sarcastic partner" (Axel, Reno). Keiji alos voiced calm chars. Basilisk is calm at times, but quickly aggressive. If I wanted an older submissive person, maybe Hideyuki Hori, who plays calm and tense chars. Basilisk is approximately 2-3 years old, which is a bit old in MR terms. Hisao's hotblooded chars are humorous.
Tyrant
Hideyuki Tanaka, others unknown
Chara Type: Quiet and dignifed, kind
Thoughts: I know Hideyuki a little, especially for his "quiet man" voice. Tyrant doesn't speak much, and many of Tanaka's chars are by the numbers.
Mocchi
Shiratori Yuri
Chara Type: ??
Thoughts: Shira-chan played the original Mocchi in the MR anime. It's just difficult to imagine a Mocchi that swears and is a bit more hardheaded (and masculine) than the anime Mocchi isn't it?
Gali

[Ideal Voice for Bad Guys]
Moo
Juurouta Kosugi, others unknown
Chara type: Cold-blooded villian
Thoughts: Juurouta Kosugi played Moo in the Japanese version of Monster Farm (Rancher) so knowing him, he wouldn't be a bad idea. Kosugi has liek the quiet, deep/mean villian/boss type of voice. He played Nobunaga in Dynasty Warriors I think.
IMO, the Dragon 4 are a bit one-sided and don't have much of a fleshed out personality. Maybe I'll make them better in the new version.
